Angelo is a captain in the South African National Defence Force (SA Navy) with nearly 33 years of service. He is married to Samantha, and they have two boys: Seth 24 and Noah 23.
Angelo is currently the Deputy Chairperson of the Two Oceans Marathon Board, and is a keen golfer and member at Rondebosch Golf Club.
We are extremely lucky to have his expertise on our BECA committee heading up our security portfolio.

Captain Angelo is building on the accomplishments of Dale Snyders and Rassie, who spearhead our security camera campaign. BECA endeavours to install more security cameras in the area, as well as link up residents’ home camera systems to the Har-Lyn Watch system :

Sonja purchased a house in 2015 on the BECA panhandle of Loch Road, which was plagued by various issues. She was actively trying to improve things on her road through liaising with CoCT council, but after discovering that she lived in the BECA area, she joined the BECA committee in order to more effectively further on the improvement works she had started – to benefit the whole BECA area. “There’s nothing nicer than seeing improvements happening in the area and knowing you have had a hand in helping make them happen!”

Former Chair to BECA 2021-2023, Kath is headmistress of a school for children with special needs. She was instrumental in starting up and running BECA after it had fallen into a long hiatus. Kath is now a budding Rockstar!
Kath is currently responsible for organising our annual BECA Kidpreneurs market, which really has become a “must attend” event in Choo Choo park each September. She also assists with the annual Halloween Trick or Treat map…please get in touch to help her out or would like to initiate starting your own event in the area – if you have children, you will know how important these local events are to them, and one person alone cannot do everything!

Reach out to the portfolio of your interest, should you wish to assist our small and friendly team volunteering to help improve (y)our BECA area. We can ALWAYS do with other team players to assist us – and it’s a great way for you yourself to meet other residents! Please consider volunteering your services by sitting on the committee or one of the sub-committees (depending on your interests or expertise). We can even consider adding another portfolio that matches your area of expertise!
Help in sorting out issues around security, street lights, parking, roads, electricity outages, dodgy building plans, the condition of our parks and so on. A strong BECA with an extensive membership helps in negotiating with the city for more resourcing for better facilities in our area.
