We are busy securing our neighbourhood, and spearheaded by our Security Portfolio, we have raised a generous amount of funds from Members and Businesses which will be used to roll out our camera project in various phases. Phase 1 is completed (as at October 2024) with 11 cameras installed on our Lower Claremont roads! We are now in the process of fund raising for Phase 2’s cameras.
The better security camera options for us would be those that can detect a human or car and differentiate that from either leaves blowing or plastic bags or cats for example. This would be slightly more expensive than entry level cameras but in the long term would have far less false triggers.
We have looked at other options and partnerships, which are also being developed. Looking in to the future, we need our partners to be transparent and collaborative. Should this not be a viable option, we will move forward in the best interests of our area and our residents with the best options to hand.
We are looking into having our own AI monitoring software installed as an option, looking towards the future in line with our goals. This is currently in the testing phase.
We are looking into partnerships also with various armed response companies who would respond to the CCTV camera alerts, and also for pricing options that are specific and tailor made for BECA residents, who will benefit from our ability to negotiate this for our Members.
